PROSPORTS USA - GENERALS
RULES AND GUIDELINES
In an
effort to clarify the circumstances under which we operate the ProSports USA
promoted motocross events at Florida motocross tracks, the following rules
have been established. For the most part these rules have been adopted for
rider and spectator safety, and to avoid any misunderstandings. As always,
your comments and inputs regarding any aspect of racing operations at these
tracks are encouraged and appreciated.
1. All
riders must first read, understand, and sign a waiver of liability before
riding a motorcycle, ATV, or any other vehicles on the raceway property.
2. All
riders must be wearing an approved helmet, boots, long sleeve shirt, pants
made of durable material, gloves, and shatter-proof goggles while riding on
the race track. Other protective gear, such as chest protector/shoulder
pads, kidney belt, and shin/knee guards are highly recommended.
3. Idle
speed only in the pit area. Bikes to be ridden to and from the track only.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
4. No
motorcycles, ATV's or bicycles allowed inside the fenced spectator areas, or
near area where spectators are viewing the race.
5.
Kickstands must be removed from motorcycles before they are allowed on the
race track.
6. If you
leave the track during the race, you must re-enter at the same spot, unless
it is unsafe to do so. Failure to do so may result in a one lap penalty,
based on the judgment of the track official.
7. No one
is allowed on the race track without permission from the track official, and
must first sign a waiver of liability.
8. All
riders must register, and pay the race or practice fees before riding their
motorcycle or ATV on the track. All minors must have a parent or legal
guardian present. If the minor's parent or legal guardian is not present,
they must be accompanied by an adult who has a notarized statement from the
parent or legal guardian which gives them the authority to act in their
behalf, including the authorization of medical treatment if necessary.
9. When
encountering a yellow flag during a race or practice, you must be in
complete control of your motorcycle and use every measure of caution when
passing another motorcycle. If a yellow flag is given at a double, triple,
or tabletop jump, the riders must not jump these obstacles.
10. When
encountering a Medical (Red Cross) flag, you must use extreme caution, and
no passing or jumping is allowed while in the vicinity of the downed rider.
11. The
displacement of your motorcycle engine must be consistent with the class you
choose to enter.
12. Under
no circumstances will a rider be allowed to ride backwards on the track.
13. Riders
may be moved up in class at the discretion of the Track Officials. See
separate guidelines regarding beginners classes.
14. Riders
who choose to ride the beginner class will not be allowed to ride in any
other skill designated classes, or Pee Wee, 60cc, or 80cc age designated
class. Beginner racers 15 years of age and older may run an age designated
class.
15. Any
protest must be in writing and signed by the protesting rider, and submitted
to the Track Official within 30 minutes after the moto in which the alleged
infraction occurred. If the alleged infraction requires a tear down of the
motorcycle to determine if an infraction exists, the person filing the
protest must post a $50 fee. If it is determined that there was an
infraction, the $50 will be returned to the protester. If there was no
infraction, the $50 fee will be given to the individual being protested. If
someone other than the person being protested actually performed the
motorcycle tear down, they will receive $25 from the person being protested.
On a random basis, the track official may require that a motorcycle be torn
down to determine if it complies with the current rules and regulations.
Under such circumstances, the $50 fee is waived.
16. No
refunds after a rider has ridden his or her motorcycle on the track,
including practice. Riders are encouraged to walk the track before practice
to become familiar with the layout and obstacles. If a rider determines that
the track is beyond their ability to safely compete in a race, they may
request a refund of their rider entry fee any time before their practice
session starts.
17.
Absolutely no riding or driving anywhere on the property if under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
18. Once
the race order has been posted, it's final.
19. Unless
otherwise stipulated, riders must participate in 75% of the races in a
series to be eligible for any series awards.
20. If
there is a tie in points after the final moto of an event, or series, the
rider with the best "Last Moto" score will be declared the winner.
21. Any
rider who jumps the starting gate, or starts from a position further than 18
inches from the gate, will be penalized one lap.
22. Only
one mechanic for each rider will be allowed in the designated mechanics
area. All mechanics must sign a waiver of liability, and receive a special
wrist band, before they will be allowed on the track.
23. If a
rider chooses to compete in an age designated class, their age age will be
determined as of January 1 of the current race year. Proof of age will be
required for all age designated classes.
24.
Motorcycles and ATV's must be in proper working order before they will be
allowed on the track. The Track Official, at his discretion, may require a
technical and safety inspection.
25. All
ATV's must have a working safety switch-off system.
26. All
Motorcycles must have number plates on the front and both sides of the
machine. ATV's must have number plates on the rear fenders and back of the
machine. If you have numbers on you helmet and chest protector, they must
match the numbers on your machines number plates.
27. The
machine the rider brings to the starting line for his or her first heat or
moto is considered the qualified machine for that day's meet in the class,
and can not be switched. Under certain circumstances, you may be asked for
your motorcycle frame number when you sign up for a race. If a machine is
switched, the rider will be disqualified for the moto in which he rode the
unauthorized machine.
28. A
rider completing 50% of the number of laps as the winner, and receiving the
checkered flag will be scored as finishing that moto.
29. Riders
earn points in each moto according to their finishing positions. A rider
must finish at least one moto to receive an overall finishing position in
the days event.
30. A
present, and registered rider who did not start a moto due to injury or
mechanical problems, or who completed fewer than half the number of laps of
the winning rider, and did not take the checked flag, will be given credit
for series attendance. They will receive series points, which will be 2
points less than last place, based on the number of total riders signed up
for the class.
31. Riders
are expected to use common sense while on the race track, and practice safe
riding procedures. Any rider who intentionally jeopardizes the safety of
another rider will be penalized, up to and including permanent expulsion
from the facility and race series. Your safety, and the safety of others
must be everybody's number one concern.
32.
Fighting will not be tolerated at any time, for any reason. The appropriate
law enforcement agency will be summoned to deal with any such disputes, and
any involved individuals who are participating in the race will be subject
to disqualification, suspension, or permanent expulsion from the facility
and race series.
33.
Dogs, or any other pets capable of biting, who are brought into the race
facility, must be contained in an enclosed vehicle unless they are muzzled
and on a short leash. It is also expected that owners will clean up any
messes left by their pets.
34.
Good sportsmanship is an important part of the overall race program. Riders
who demonstrate poor sportsmanship at a ProSports USA promoted event, either
on or off the race track, may be subject to disciplinary actions which could
prevent them from participating in future ProSports USA events.
